Account → Passengers → add, choose Passport, copy your name exactly (spaces/commas included), plus number, expiry, nationality. Save once and it auto-fills every booking.

官方唯一售票渠道，但僅上架中國區 App Store / 國內安卓商店，海外賬號可能搜不到；App 內可切換英文界面，也可在網頁版 12306.cn 操作。
The only official ticket channel — but it's only on China-region app stores, so an overseas account may not find it. The app has an English interface; the website 12306.cn works too.

Foreign numbers work and receive SMS codes. Add an email for recovery. Signup and passport verification also work on the 12306.cn website (the site is mostly Chinese; the app has an English mode) — do it in a browser before departure, or install the app after you land. If you don't read Chinese, the Trip.com route above is easier.

「我的」→「乘車人 / Passengers」→ 新增 → 證件類型選護照，填寫姓名（與護照完全一致，含空格）、護照號、有效期、國籍。
Me → Passengers → add new → choose Passport as ID type, then enter your name exactly as printed (spaces included), passport number, expiry and nationality.

系統顯示「待覈驗 / 未通過」時，需完成核驗才能購票。常見方式：
If it shows "pending" or "not verified", you must verify before buying. Two routes:
- 線上覈驗：部分情況可在 App 內上傳護照資料頁 + 人臉覈驗，通常幾小時內通過。
- In-app: upload your passport photo page and complete a face scan — often approved within hours.
- 窗口覈驗：到任意火車站售票窗口，出示護照原件，工作人員當場覈驗，立等可取。
- At a counter: show your physical passport at any station ticket office; staff verify it on the spot.

覈驗可能需要 1–3 個工作日。出發前一週就完成，否則搶票當天才發現買不了就晚了。
Allow 1–3 working days. Finish it a week before you fly — discovering you can't buy tickets on release day is too late.

首頁輸入出發地、目的地、日期 → 查詢。可以用「出發時段」「只看高鐵/G/D」篩選。
Enter origin, destination and date, then search. Filter by departure window or "G/D only".
- 城市名用中文（北京、上海、西安），系統也支持拼音。
- Use Chinese city names (北京, 上海, 西安); pinyin also works.
- 注意區分車站：上海有上海站、上海虹橋、上海南，務必看清楚。
- Watch the station: Shanghai has Shanghai Station, Hongqiao and South. Check carefully.

點進車次，選擇二等座 / 一等座 / 商務座（詳見下方座位說明）。長途可選臥鋪。
Open the train and choose Second / First / Business class (see below). Sleepers are available on long routes.

沒票了？用「候補」Sold out? Use the waitlist
熱門線路的票放出來常常幾分鐘就售罄。這時候用 12306 官方的候補購票功能——相當於官方排隊，有人退票就自動按順序給你。
Popular routes sell out within minutes. That's what the official waitlist (候補) is for — an official queue that automatically issues you a ticket when someone cancels.
- 在車次頁面點「候補」，選擇席別與截止兌現時間，預付票款。
- 可以同時候補多個車次，顯著提高成功率。
- 兌現成功會推送通知並自動出票；未成功則全額退款。
- 發車前 24 小時左右是退票高峯，候補成功率會明顯上升。
- Tap "Waitlist" on the train, choose a seat class and a cut-off time, and pre-pay.
- You can queue for several trains at once — this lifts your odds a lot.
- If it fills, you get a notification and a ticket; if not, a full refund.
- Cancellations peak about 24 hours before departure, so success rates rise sharply then.

進站全流程Getting through the station

提前到站
Arrive early
高鐵站建議提前 45–60 分鐘；大型樞紐（北京南、上海虹橋、廣州南）站體巨大，提前 1 小時更穩。火車不等遲到的人。
Aim for 45–60 minutes before departure; the mega-hubs (Beijing South, Shanghai Hongqiao, Guangzhou South) are enormous, so allow an hour. Trains do not wait.

安檢
Security
憑護照與訂單進站。安檢與機場類似：行李過機、人身檢查。水杯裏的液體有時需要喝一口或丟棄。
Enter with your passport and booking. Security resembles an airport: bags through the scanner, body check. You may be asked to sip from or discard a water bottle.

走人工通道
Use the staffed lane
護照不能刷自動閘機。找到標着「人工通道 / 重點旅客通道」的檢票口，把護照給工作人員覈驗。
A passport will not open the automatic gate. Look for the lane marked 人工通道 (staffed) or 重點旅客通道 and hand your passport to the attendant.

候車廳大屏顯示車次、檢票口、狀態（候車 / 檢票中 / 停止檢票）。檢票口可能在發車前 10–20 分鐘才顯示，彆着急。
The departure board lists train, gate and status (waiting / boarding / closed). The gate number can appear only 10–20 minutes before departure — don't panic.

聽到廣播或看到「檢票中」就排隊。同樣走人工通道。站臺上看地標顏色找對應車廂位置。
Queue when the board flips to "boarding" and use the staffed lane again. On the platform, follow the coloured platform markers to your carriage.

列車員會查票，出示護照與訂單信息即可。座位號貼在車窗上方。
The conductor checks tickets; show your passport and booking. Seat numbers are printed above the window.

Exiting
到站後同樣走人工通道出站，可能需要查驗護照。
Exit via the staffed lane as well — your passport may be checked.
改簽與退票Changes & refunds

- 開車前均可改簽，開車後也可改簽當日其他有餘票的車次。
- 每張票有改簽次數限制，改簽後票價多退少補。
- 在 12306「我的訂單」裏直接操作，幾秒鐘完成。
- You can change before departure, and after departure to another train that day with free seats.
- Each ticket has a limited number of changes; any fare difference is settled.
- Do it in "My Orders" — it takes seconds.
退票Refunds
- 開車前 8 天（含）以上退票，通常不收手續費。
- 越接近發車，退票費比例越高（具體費率以 12306 公佈爲準）。
- 開車後一般不退（因病等特殊情況可憑證明辦理）。
- 退款退回原支付渠道，到賬需要幾個工作日。
- Eight or more days before departure, refunds are usually fee-free.
- The closer to departure, the higher the fee — check the published 12306 scale.
- No refunds after departure, except in special cases such as illness with proof.
- Money returns to the original payment method within a few working days.
行李與禁止攜帶Luggage & restricted items
- 成人免費攜帶品 20 公斤，每件長寬高之和不超過 160 釐米。
- 充電寶：額定能量不超過 100Wh（約 27000mAh），需有清晰標識。
- 摺疊自行車、嬰兒車在規定尺寸內可帶。
- 少量自用的酒精飲品（有度數與容量限制）。
- 20 kg free allowance per adult; each item's three dimensions must total no more than 160 cm.
- Power banks up to 100 Wh (roughly 27,000 mAh) with legible markings.
- Folding bikes and pushchairs within the size limits.
- Small amounts of alcohol for personal use, within the stated limits.
- 管制刀具、打火機（限帶少量普通打火機）。
- 超過 100Wh 的充電寶、標識不清的鋰電池。
- 易燃易爆品、超量壓縮氣體罐（如防曬噴霧）。
- 活體動物（導盲犬等工作犬除外）。
- Controlled knives; lighters are limited to a couple of standard ones.
- Power banks over 100 Wh and unmarked lithium batteries.
- Flammables, explosives and oversized pressurised cans such as sunscreen spray.
- Live animals, except assistance dogs.
